Calle de Panchimalco – A Street in Panchimalco. Â A standard village street view, echoed many times in pictures sold at artisan markets, here is transformed by Jose Mejia Vides as he paints his home town. Â The vivid colors he picks clash but harmonize in a heat. Â The looming mountains behind the row of houses shows almost cubist lines in their abstractness, and their colors show his training as he pairs yellows with purple shadows. Â Finally, the eye draws to the solitary woman walking in the hot midday sun.
